Tea Time with Adagio Teas

I drink tea daily.  Sometimes multiple times per day.  I put yerba mate in my version of Healthful Pursuit’s Rocket Fuel Latte and I’ve even started making it with matcha green tea.   And I like all types of tea.  Green, black, herbal, oolong, chai, white, rooibos… it’s all good.  So when I got an email from Adagio Tea asking if I would like to try some of their tea I was all about that.

I’m lucky enough to have a local tea and coffee shop (The Coffee & Tea Exchange in Lakeview for locals) that sells some quality beans and leaves.  And they are so inventive when it comes to flavors.  Ever since I’ve started getting my tea from them, I’ve become very picky about my drinks.  They have to measure up to the high standard of my little shop or else, why bother? Tea Time with Adagio Teas | Life Healthfully Lived

Adagio Teas DEFINITELY lives up to my tea standard.  When I visited their website to check out what tea they had, I was kind of blown away by all the choices.  There are SO many and I wanted to try them all!  They even have tea that I had never heard of like Pu-Erh tea which goes through a fermentation process before the leaves are dry and ready to use.  I didn’t even know you could ferment tea leaves which just goes to show you learn something everyday kids. Tea Time with Adagio Teas | Life Healthfully Lived

I also like that their website includes user ratings of the tea so you can see which teas are customer favorites.  This turned out to be super helpful while I was trying to decide which tea to get because there were so many options.  After looking at pretty much every. single. choice.  I decided to get a little bit of everything.  Adagio offers sample sizes on most of their tea so you can try a little bit before you commit to buying a ton.  Which is awesome because no one wants to be stuck with a huge amount of tea they don’t even like.  And of course, you have to finish it because you spent a good amount of money on it and feel guilty wasting it.  It’s just a big mess.  So, way to go Adagio! Tea Time with Adagio Teas | Life Healthfully Lived

I might have gotten a little tea crazy because I ended up getting about 14 different samples of their tea.  What can I say?  I wanted to get a good variety… I ended up with:

Earl Grey Bravo

Tiger Eye

Thai Chai

Cranberry

Pu Erh Tahiti

Lemon Soleil

Green Rooibos Key West

Spiced Mate

Honeybush Hazelnut

Peach Oolong

White Grapefruit

White Blueberry

Casablanca Twist

Matcha Green Tea

So, yeah.  You could say I have had some good tea sippin’ these last few weeks. I wasn’t expecting to like the white or oolong tea as much as I did but the White Blueberry and Peach Oolong were fantastic!  Those will be great during the warmer months and would be awesome as iced tea.

My absolute favorite though was a tie between Honeybush Hazelnut and Tiger Eye.  The Honeybush Hazelnut almost tasted like a fancy drink that you would get in a cafe.  The addition of things like hazelnut, caramel, and cocoa nibs made these two really decadent.  They were kind of perfect when I was craving something dessert-y but didn’t have any actual dessert around.  Shocking, I know.

Another awesome aspect of Adagio Teas is they work directly with growers.  This means you not only get tea that is super fresh and grown in the country that variety originated, but you also pay less money.  I like knowing the products I’m purchasing are created with care and respect for the people and environment producing them.  I can’t always do that with all of my food, but when I can I try to speak with my dollars. Tea Time with Adagio Teas | Life Healthfully Lived

If you’re looking for some quality tea you should try Adagio Teas.  You can sample a few of their best sellers or try something totally new, they have plenty of options!  If you’re not a loose leaf tea fan, 22 of their teas come in a pyramid tea bag for easy sampling. And if you’re in the Chicagoland area, they have retail locations in Naperville, Skokie, and Chicago.  Give them a try and let me know what you think!

I received compensation for all the teas in my review in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions are my own and may differ from your own.
